Kemi Badenoch, MP for Saffron Walden, which includes Chelmsford villages and the Uttlesford district recently visited the site for the new Beaulieu Park train station.
The new station is part of a wider regeneration of the Beaulieu Park estate in Chelmsford with new road infrastructure and up to 14,000 homes.
Alongside neighbouring MP Vicky Ford, Mrs Badenoch worked with Essex County Council and Chelmsford City Council to help successfully secure £218m of funding from central Government’s Housing and Infrastructure (HIF) fund together with £34m contributions from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership and the developers of Beaulieu, Countryside and L&Q.
During the visit Mrs Badenoch got an update on the progress of the station site works, including Generals Lane Bridge.
Commenting Mrs Badenoch said:
“It was great to see the progress being made on the site, as well as the work to complete Generals Lane Bridge.
“The teams are working really hard to deliver this project, and alongside the Chelmsford North-East Bypass, these vital infrastructure projects will make a huge difference to my Chelmsford constituents and the wider area.”
