As we move into 2023, I would like to wish you all joy, peace and prosperity for the new year.
From the war in Ukraine, the passing of Her Majesty, the rising cost of living to the appointment of two Prime Ministers, it is safe to say we have had another extraordinary year and experienced some of our most testing times.
Yet despite this our communities and country have pulled together. The Government has pressed ahead with its ambitious agenda to level up as well as provide support for us all as we face the rising cost of living.
I have been proud to support vital legislation in Parliament to improve the lives of local residents. Like the levelling up and regeneration bill, which will reform our planning system for the better and the online safety bill, designed to better protect children online. This is alongside supporting more funding for local schools and our NHS, an additional 345 officers in Essex, better broadband for rural areas and championing our local businesses.
We all know that for many, Christmas may look a little different this year and it is right we continue to do all we can to support those who need it, particularly the most vulnerable.
My office remains open to all those who need my help as we navigate the coming weeks and months, and if you are struggling to access any of the support available then please do contact me directly.
I hope during this festive period we can all come together and spend the precious time with our loved we have missed over the last 2 years.
I wish you and all your families a very Merry Christmas and the very best for 2023.
