Audley End Miniature Railway started as Lord Braybrooke’s hobby, but through a labour of love by his daughter, Amanda Murray, it has become a very fun family day out with train rides, craft activities and the enchanted fairy walk!
I visited the Miniature Railway with my family to experience it for myself and learn more about the benefits it brings to our area. Not only does it bring in the tourists, the Railway also provides local employment opportunities and apprenticeship placements. While students are developing their skills ready for the world of work, the art of model railways is passed on to the next generation, ensuring that Lord Braybrooke’s legacy continues.
It is incredible that, what started as a daughter’s determination to keep her father's passion alive, is doing so much good in our community.
