Sometimes we take for granted just how lucky we are to live in a country where we enjoy peace, democracy and the rule of law. Many others are not so fortunate. Seeing Ian Wolter's unique take on the Burghers of Calais statue, exhibiting the plight of refugee children brings this home. I encourage everyone to go see his work of art outside of St Mary's Church in Saffron Walden. The statue's unveiling reception last week was headlined by none other than Lord Alf Dubs, who spoke touchingly about his own experiences on the Kindertransport and what he has been doing to raise attention for helping refugees.
