We may be leaving the European Union but our ties with Europe are as strong and resilient as ever. This was exemplified at the Stansted Twinning ceremony on Friday 6th July, where Stansted Mountfitchet officially twinned with the town of Rungis in France. This ceremony made official a partnership of two towns based on shared values, culture and village spirit, bringing together two like-minded communities. I was pleased to be a part of this historic occasion, and mark an important moment in the history of both towns. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in bringing this project to life, and demonstrating that links between the UK and European countries will remain as strong as ever.
