I met new Chelmsford City Chief Executive Nick Eveleigh, and Cllrs Roy Whitehead and John Galley, to discuss plans for Beaulieu Station, the North East Bypass and other projects which will benefit thousands of people in rural Chelmsford. The station is expected to be opened in 2025, and will provide much needed extra infrastructure to support the thousands of new homes planned for the area. Estimates suggest that close to £250 million will be added to the economy each year as a result, supporting over 3,500 jobs and continued local economic growth. We need critical infrastructure like this to ensure an adequate provision of services for new and existing homes, which is why I supported the bid and continue to work on viable solutions to promote our community and invest in our people.
